




Zero Tolerance Policy
1. Purpose
This policy sets out our zero tolerance approach to unacceptable behaviour at all club activities. We are committed to ensuring a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for everyone involved in football.
2. Scope
This policy applies to:
- Players
- Coaches and volunteers
- Match officials
- Parents, carers, and spectators
- Visitors attending club activities
It applies at:
- Matches (home and away)
- Training sessions
- Club events
- Online and digital communication
3. Our Zero Tolerance Commitment
We will not tolerate:
- Abuse (verbal, physical, emotional, or online)
- Bullying or intimidation
- Discrimination or harassment of any kind
- Racism or racist language/behaviour
- Sexism, homophobia, transphobia, or ableism
- Aggressive behaviour towards players, officials, or spectators
- Threatening or violent conduct
All individuals have the right to participate in football free from fear, abuse, or discrimination.
4. Alignment with Safeguarding and Equality
This policy supports:
- Our Safeguarding Policy (protecting children and adults at risk)
- Our Equality Policy (ensuring fairness and inclusion)
- The Football Association of Wales safeguarding and disciplinary frameworks
We take a zero tolerance approach particularly to behaviour that impacts children and vulnerable individuals.
5. Anti-Racism Statement
In line with the Anti-racist Wales Action Plan:
- Racism will never be accepted or ignored
- All reports of racism will be taken seriously and acted upon immediately
- Sanctions for racist behaviour will be firm and consistent
6. Responsibilities
All Members
- Behave respectfully at all times
- Follow club rules and policies
- Challenge or report unacceptable behaviour
Coaches and Volunteers
- Set a positive example
- Act immediately if poor behaviour occurs
- Support a safe and inclusive environment
Club Committee
- Enforce this policy consistently
- Take appropriate disciplinary action
- Support those affected by unacceptable behaviour
7. Reporting Concerns
All incidents should be reported as soon as possible to:
- A coach or committee member
- The Club Safeguarding Officer
Reports will:
1. Be taken seriously
2. Be recorded
3. Be investigated appropriately
Serious cases may be referred to:
- The Football Association of Wales
- Police or relevant authorities where necessary
8. Disciplinary Action
Any breach of this policy may result in:
- Verbal or written warning
- Removal from training or matches
- Suspension from the club
- Permanent exclusion
In cases where the breach was witnessed by one of the Safeguarding team, action can be taken immediately and without appeal. Serious incidents (especially abuse, racism, or violence) are likely to result in immediate suspension or removal.
9. Matchday Behaviour (Spectators and Parents)
We expect all spectators to:
- Respect referees and match officials
- Support players positively
- Never shout abuse or criticism
The club reserves the right to:
- Ask individuals to leave the venue
- Report serious misconduct to the Football Association of Wales
10. Online and Social Media Conduct
Zero tolerance also applies online:
- No abusive messages or posts
- No discriminatory language or content
- Respect privacy and confidentiality
Online breaches will be treated as seriously as in-person incidents.
11. Monitoring and Review
- This policy will be reviewed annually
- It will be updated in line with FAW and Welsh Government guidance
- Feedback from members will be considered
